"We drink Tequila around here..."

~jen, owner & tequila lover
Why should I drink Tequila?

"True" Tequila is made from 100% Blue Agave and is only grown in the State of Jalisco, Mexico. Each Agave takes 2 3 years to mature and is harvested by a "Jimador", a trained professional. (My dream job, by the way). The Agaves are then roasted, distilled, aged or bottled in small batches using years of traditional methods. The care, time and dedication given to a bottle of 100% Blue Agave Tequila is worth the price and the appreciation of the drinker!

What is Tequila & why is it so f!)#$@*expensive?

Let's start by saying that Jose Cuervo "Gold" is not real Tequila! Until most recently, any fake, caramel colored, rot gut liquor masquerading as Tequila would have been banished to the far reaches of Mexico. After "mucho"
pressure from big corporate liquor conglomerates, Jose Cuervo is allowed to use the name, but should be ashamed of themselves! That being said, Tequila is the most perfect liquor made by human hands on this earth, at least according to me. Oak, melon, vanilla, wood, mint, white pepper, sweet, citrus, pear, even chocolate are all flavors that can be found in that little glass of heaven.

~Blanco "White", or Plata "Silver"~
Bottled right after distillation, they are said to have the truest taste of the Blue
Agave. They tend to have notes of fruit, floral, herb, & a slight spice with a
note of white pepper.

~Patron, Milagro, Voodoo Tiki, Don
Julio, Don Eduardo, Espolon
Reposado or "Rested"
~
Aged a minimum of 2 months & no more than a year in white oak barrels.
Tends to have a slightly smoother taste than either the Silvers or the Anejos,
due to the light aging. Flavors include cinnamon, soft wood, vanilla, fruit,
smoke, and earth.

~ Milagro, Corralejo, Voodoo Tiki,
Herradura, Don Eduardo
Anejo or "Aged"
~
Aged a minimum or 1 year & no more than 3 years. These are the "Big"
Tequilas- the ones most compared to Bourbon or Scotch. They tend to have
bold flavors of smoke, wood, vanilla, Bourbon, caramel, fruit, butter, spice and
have a full bodied feel. These are great for sipping!

~ Patron, Milagro, Voodoo Tiki,
Cazadores, Gran Centenario
Super Premiums~

These are Tequilas that have either been super-aged or aged in oak barrels
from Bourbon distilleries, wine makers, etc. This is a new classification and
the outcomes have been pretty incredible. They also tend to be pretty pricey,
so be sure to ask $, if you are concerned, before you commit!
